Upgrade Items

 The brief:

Delay upgrading your items until you are doing Nightmares and Distortions regularly to earn the resources you need.

Until then, assemble two gear sets in your P-Equipment screen from your found items:
1) DPS set high in [Main Damage] (or [Critical Chance] and [Damage to Elite]) and
2) Support/Tank set high in [Main Defense] (or [Protection from Elite] and [Protection from Control])

Research builds carefully first: even excellent players disagree as the best combinations of attributes.  Inspect other players' gear and read guides, then choose exactly what you want to make. You'll make new sets each invasion, so your decision is not permanent.

To change a weapon secondary stats, get a new one and get lucky. When a weapon is old, you can modify the generation and increase the main numbers, but that will only change the numbers, not what it does.

The deets

Upgrade current generation epic purple or yellow mythical gems and jewelry using Pure Matter, Marks, and tens of millions of credits.  The items are in the fourth tab of your B-Bag.  The upgrade interface is in your Bag tab for "Upgrade"

Step-by-step summary after you've decided what you need to make:
     1) First, gather resources, including Sparks, [Credits], [Pure Matter], high-integrity epic gems or jewelries, and Marks from running many Nightmares, Distortions and other sources listed in the Invasion Calendar. Upgrading items is expensive: a perfectly rolled item might cost 5 million credits or more if you're unlucky.
    2) Second, open the upgrade window from your Bag. Select and upgrade a high-integrity epic gem or jewelry item to mythical status using [Credits] and [Pure Matter], or if you are lucky enough to pick up a mythical item, use that.  If the item already has some of your chosen attributes, even better.  Current generation items offer better superiority buffs, but older gen items are cheaper to upgrade.
    3) Third, use "Modification" to open a menu to change that item's qualities as you wish. Build guides elsewhere help you decide what you want.  The qualities you lock with a click get a solid box and will not change when you click [Modify] and the others will.  You have only a chance to get the quality(s) you want each time you modify ("roll") the item.
     4) Fourth, fine tune the item using your Sparks of Simplicity (key stats), Morale (PvP buff), Frugality (saving credits, best when rolling only one or two qualities) and finally one Evolution (taking all qualities to maximum values).
     5) Fifth, when you need high superiority for a prize or the small buff it gives, upgrade your CURRENT GENERATION mythical items' integrity using Marks. Each type of item uses an unchangeable type or types of Mark to upgrade. The interface shows you what you must spend.
     6) Last, WEAR THE BEST, SELL THE REST.  Sell Sparks of Luck, Memory, and Perfection.  Sell excess Marks and Matter. Sell low rarity gems and jewelry. Sell older items you no longer need.
     7) Repeat this process each invasion as the current generation rises. You get faster as you master the interface and become familiar with the sets you want to wear.  Good luck

Faithful Adepts to Elder God

the Brief:

Adepts bring you Faith (more when equipped with Relics to max the Charisma with high Perception then Constitution, and managed carefully); Faith gives you Divine Form, which gives you more power and, if you finish Squad, Invasion or (best) Group missions while Divine, Divine Deeds.
Divine Deeds spent in your Temple of Deeds give you buffs and skills and, when you fully fill the first three tabs, Elder God status. Temple of Deeds also needs 6 Avatar Trophies, which come from completing Trial Avatar (Trava) missions

 The details

[Adepts] in your 9 or L screen will gather resources for you. Equip Adepts (click two boxes below their stats) with Relics as best you can at first, send each on a journey, and they'll gather Faith, Credits, Relics they can use (keep the best, sell the rest), and even other adepts.  Finish or Cancel the journey to get what they found, let them rest til at 100% Energy, equip them, then send each out on a journey again over and over.

[Adepts] can increase the [Faith] generated if you:
#1 Equip Adepts to maximize their [Charisma] and [Perception], then [Constitution]
#2 Start and cancel their journeys immediately as each energy bar reaches 100 or 0.  Their timing varies with Constitution,
#3 Rapidly dismiss new recruits or an old one if a new one is better using the red X by your journey button.  only 8 can be active.  Having unused recruits decreases Faith the others earn.
#4 Manage your Adepts three or more times a day if you can.

Other sources of Faith and Divine form are  #1 Buying [Faith] in items in [SF Market], #2 a player with [Divine Spark Generator] from [Hall of Trophies] can spend their Faith for your [Divine Form], #3 KoE spent at ToK grants random buff tokens, including two for free Divine Forms.

You waste Faith when you [Cancel Journey] while your bar is too full to accept the full amount.  [Conserve Faith] only if you have a free [Divine Amulet] in your bag (it's not worth 400 VM).  Best: use your Faith as it arrives to help allies and make your missions faster, then bring in your Adepts and send them out again as soon as you can

[Divine Deeds] (not sold in SF [Market]) that complete your [Hall of Deeds] tabs, come from only two sources: #1 Completing a [Directive] with Divine Deeds as a reward, and #2 Completing a Squad, Group or Invasion mission in [Divine Form]. The first maximizes when you complete all Faith bearing Directives daily. the second maximizes with Group Missions done divine.

[Group] missions give best return of Deeds for Faith completed solo while divine. Costs, rewards, multipliers and discounts vary from offers, events, region, party size, and your personal progress. To compute your Deeds to Faith return on an activity: go there, divide the reward number in your [Divine Deeds] popup (50 Squad, 100 Group, 130 Party) by the Faith cost number revealed by your Alt button in the right end of your yellow Faith Meter.

When you fill the first three tabs of your Hall of Deeds with the Deeds you earned, with the six Avatar Trophies, you achieve Elder God status.

Greetings! Welcome to SkyForge!

4Games closed all Skyforge servers on September 2 2024 at 10am GMT.

 -----------------------------------------------

 Hello!
If no one's said it, or even if they have, Welcome to SkyForge!
...
The best game tip I know for new or returning player is "Join a Pantheon soon"
...
Ask me how or why if you like. No matter what you choose, good luck, and have fun!

The full briefing

You unlock the ability to join or leave a Pantheon Academy with your O screen around Rank 4. You get extra in-game prizes when you join, and more as you progress.

SkyForge doesn't explain that and other things well, making you often guess what your new abilities really offer. In an active Pantheon, your mates will explain such things eagerly because you've made yourself an ally, teammate and a potential friend.

You can join and leave any Pantheon Academy you like at will until you unlock your god.  Join mine in NA Arcanum, EU Original Sin, or none at all.

No matter what you choose, good luck, and have fun!

When you join an Academy, check out your Welcome
