You unlock the ability to join or leave a Pantheon Academy with your O screen around Rank 4. You get extra in-game prizes when you join, and more as you progress.
SkyForge doesn't explain that and other things well, making you often guess what your new abilities really offer. In an active Pantheon, your mates will explain such things eagerly because you've made yourself an ally, teammate and a potential friend.
You can join and leave any Pantheon Academy you like at will until you unlock your god. Join mine in NA Arcanum, EU Original Sin, or none at all.
